Nebulas Coverage

The Nebula Awards will be presented in Los Angeles tomorrow night. We won’t be there, but through the magic of the Internet it will seem as if we are. Here’s what will happen.

From about 18:30 PST tomorrow we will have a CoverItLive window open. If you have not seen one of those before, check out Cheryl and Kevin’s coverage of their visit to this year’s Worldcon site from last weekend. That coverage will pull in Twitter feeds from Mary Robinette Kowal (@sfwa) and Mike Allen (@mythicdelirium) who will be on site. Mary’s tweets will include the official announcements of Nebula winners as they are revealed. Because we are using CoverItLive to aggregate the feeds you won’t need a Twitter account, or even need to refresh your browser, in order to follow the action.

There’s more. You will be able to comment. There will be two methods open to you. Firstly if you tweet using the hashtag #nebula then your comments should be picked up and included. However, we have noticed that CoverItLive can be quite slow displaying tweets that contain a hashtag it is looking for. Consequently we recommend that you use the CoverItLive comment facility. That does mean that someone has to be online hosting the show so as to approve your comments. Kevin is traveling tomorrow and may not be able to get to his computer in the evening, so Cheryl will be getting up at 2:30am (UK time) to keep you folks entertained. Please do not laugh at her typos.
