BSFS Heinlein Award

The Baltimore Science Fiction Society has written to us with news of their Robert A. Heinlein Award. As the BSFS web site explains, this is not the same award as the one given out by the Heinlein Society. Virginia Heinlein authorized several awards in her late husband’s name. The BSFS award is for “outstanding published works in science fiction and technical writings to inspire the human exploration of Space” and is judged each year by a committee of authors.
The winners of the 2009 BSFS Robert. A Heinlein Award are Joe Haldeman and John Varley.
