Thanks to Tero Ykspetäjä we have a couple of Finnish awards to announce.
Firstly the Kuvastaja award, which is for fantasy written originally in Finnish, went to Nainen ja Kuningas (The Woman and The King) by Anni Nupponen. The book was apparently self-published.
In addition two fantasy novels have been nominated for the prestigious (€ 30,000) Finlandia Junior prize for Finnish children’s and YA novels. The books are Omenmean vallanhaltija (The ruler of Omenmea) by Siiri Enoranta and Arra. Legender från Lavora (Arra. Legends from Lavora) by Maria Turtschaninoff.
