The con newsletter has also come through with the results of this year’s Chesley Awards:

- Best Cover – Paperback: Daniel Dos Santos (for Ace’s edition of Moon Called by Patricia Briggs)
- Best Cover – Magazine: Renee LeCompte (for Fantasy Magazine, Summer 2006)
- Best Interior Illustrations: Omar Rayyan (for Cricket magazine)
- Best Unpublished Color: Stephen Hickman (for “Galadriel’s Harp”)
- Best Unpublished Monochrome: Donato Giancola (for “Red Sonya”)
- Best 3-D Art: Laura Reynolds (for “Ice Dragon”)
- Best Gaming Related Illustration: Todd Lockwood (for “Dragons of Faerûn”)
- Best Product Illustration: Eugenio Caballero & William Stout (for Pan’s Labyrinth)
- Artistic Achievement: John Jude Palencar
- Best Art Direction: Irene Gallo (Tor)

Fearum?? That would be Faerûn and “Dragons of Faerûn”, wouldn’t? Or am I mistaken?

We think you are probably right, win. “Dragons of Fearum” is what appears on the official Chesley ballot, which is where we got it from. We shall make inquiries.

Any clue if they gave an award for Service to ASFA this year? This has been, IIRC, fairly common practice in the past. I checked the ASFA site but it as yet has no update on this year’s awards.
There was nothing in the con newsletter, Mike, and they made a big deal of the Chesley results. Also various people looked at this post when we were sorting out the Lockwood issue, and no one has told us we have something missing.
Beautiful illustrations. I especially like the Stephan Martiniere’s one.
No one nominated this year for Service to ASFA accepted a nomination. That was due to board members being nominated.
