We Have Video
September 2nd, 2007 by Editors
Fast Forward’s video blog from Saturday includes a bunch of stills from the pre-Hugo reception and the ceremony itself. (There is also a lot of coverage from around the fixed exhibits area. We are in awe of the hourly bi-lingual con newsletter.)
In addition on You Tube there is film of the opening presentation at the Hugos in which various Ultramen take on a legion of rubber suit monsters. Link here.
If you clicked through on that you’ll see that Chris Roberson has joined the vast throng of people gushing over the Hugo trophy. It is indeed seriously cool. And now we have the design credits: KAIYODO. We are not sure as yet whether that is one person or a design studio, but whoever they are, they did a fabulous job.

Thanks for the link to Roberson’s blog–that presentation was AWESOME!
Quite possibly it’s the Kaiyodo that’s referenced here in the Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiyodo
Good catch! Hopefully Captain Standlee can confirm. And it would be nice to know if it is an actual Bome sculpture.
