i would also note the Comic Buyer’s Guide Fan Awards and the Squiddy Awards. The CBG Fan Awards have been around since 1982.

The Squiddies are the longest-running online awards for comics, which must account for something.

I looked at the Squiddies, but they seem to have stopped in 2003, so don’t fit my self-imposed ‘currently on-going’ criterion. I couldn’t find any awards from CBG later than 2005, so thought they might also be in abeyance. I’ll double check, though.

The 2006 CBG Fan Awards were awarded in July, but haven’t been added to that page in post 1 yet.

After a search thru the newsgroups, it does appear that 2003 was the last year for the Squiddies. 2004 voting was conducted, but the administrator dropped off the face of the planet and didn’t announce the winners.
Thanks for that. I’ll rewrite the article accordingly, as there’s a few errors I need to correct, anyway.
