The Lammys were handed out last night in New York. The winner of the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror category was: Diana Comet and Other Improbable Stories, Sandra McDonald (Lethe Press). Full details of all categories can be found here.
Update: We knew that Alcestis by Katharine Beutner, a finalist in the Lesbian Debut category, was a fantasy novel. This report by Lawrence Schimel on Jeff VanderMeer’s blog suggests that the winner of that category, Sub Rosa by Amber Dawn could also have appears in the SF/F/H category. The Lammy require publishers to submit books, so the category in which a book appears is decided by the publisher. It isn’t clear whether these two books were submitted in Lesbian Debut because their publishers thought they would have a better chance of success there, of they wanted to avoid the books being labeled as genre.
