Gaylactic Spectrum Awards 2007

Some of you may remember that at this year’s Gaylaxicon only the winner of the Novel category was announced in the Spectrum Awards because the judges were overloaded by the huge quantity of material. Well, the other winners, nominees and long lists are now all available on the official web site. Here are the highlights:

  • Best Novel: Vellum, Hal Duncan (DelRey)
  • Best Short Fiction (tie):
    • “In the Quake Zone”, David Gerrold (Down These Dark Spaceways, SFBC)
    • “Instinct”, Joy Parks (The Future Is Queer, Arsenal Pulp)
    • “The Language of Moths”, Christopher Barzak (Realms of Fantasy)
  • Best Other Work (tie):
    • The Future Is Queer, anthology edited by Richard Labonte and Lawrence Schimel (Arsenal Pulp)
    • Torchwood Season 1, television by Russell T Davies et al (BBC)
    • V for Vendetta, film by James McTeigue et al (Warner Bros)

(Thanks Rick!)
