Zombie Alert

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the Nebula banquet, the shambling controversy has reared its ugly head again. This time it appears that other people involved with the production of “World Enough and Time” are afraid that if the Nebulas recognize the show as “professional” then it will get shut down by Paramount.
This sounds horribly reminiscent of the claims of fanfic authors that they are not infringing anyone’s copyright because they are only writing stories for fun. Not to mention other arguments over whether one can be both a “fan” and a “professional”.
Meanwhile the whole story is getting re-hashed on various media fan web sites, for example here and here.
Maybe we need to get John Scalzi to write an episode of New Voyages, or Phase II, or whatever it is calling itself these days.
