Science Fiction Awards Watch

Lambda Winners

The winners of this year’s Lambda Literary Awards were announced last night, with several categories being of interest. The LGBT Anthology award was won by First Person Queer, edited by Richard Labonte and Lawrence Schimel (Arsenal Pulp Press). Schimel is a former Rhysling Award winner. The Women’s Memoir/Biography category was won by Nicola Griffith for And Now We Are Going to Have a Party (Payseur & Schmidt). And the science fiction category was won by The Dust of Wonderland by Lee Thomas (Alyson Books). If you are going “whaa?”, that’s because it is a horror novel. Thomas won the President’s Award at the Stokers in 2004. The official web site hasn’t been updated yet, but a full list of winners will doubtless soon be available here.
