Method
The award is voting on by members of SESFA (membership currently costs $7/year). There are separate nomination and voting phases. Up to four nominations may be made in each category. The top four nominees in each category go forward to the final ballot. In the event of a tie in the final ballot the number of nominations will be used as a tie-breaker.
Eligibility
Nominees must be born or reside in the Southeastern United States (defined as Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia).
Works must be science fiction, fantasy or horror.
Categories
- Lifetime Achievement
- Novel (> 40,000 words)
- Short Fiction (<= 40,000 words)
Winner receives
Certificates and a cash prize the value of which depends on the income from memberships but will not exceed $100.
Submissions method
None. You must make your work known to SESFA members.
