| Swords & Dark Magic, Jonathan Strahan & Lou Anders (eds.) (Eos) |
I heartily applaud Jonathan Strahan and Lou Anders for Swords & Dark Magic. How often do you find an anthology that completely reinvigorates a genre subset? Simply full of win with outstanding entries by Caitlin R. Kiernan, James Enge, Garth Nix among so many more, Swords & Dark Magic rekindled my love for a trope that I had long believed to be completely panned out. Simply can’t wait for another and should have shelled out the extra shekels for the super-duper wowsy, wowsy Limited Edition from Subterranean Press. Oh well, live and learn, next time for sure.
